The GGL GHG Tool supports greenhouse gas calculations, it does not replace certification.
All GHG calculations must be independently verified by a recognised GGL Certification Body in accordance with the applicable GGL certification requirements, and verification activities must be performed in line with ISO 14065.

What you get from the GHG Tool
Free of charge, for everyone
Anyone who registers a valid email address will receive a download link to the latest version of the tool. You do not need to be a certified GGL Participant or Certification Body to access the GHG Tool.
Easy to use and simple
The GHG Tool is Excel-based and uses macros to perform the calculations. This makes it easy to use for anyone familiar with spreadsheets, without requiring additional software or technical skills. The tool runs on Windows and macOS. GGL has pre-populated it with the most common GHG Default values for various regulations.
Focusing on the Japanese FIT/FIP and European RED markets
Calculations of total GHG emissions can be based on either Default values for FIT/FIP or RED, or on actual emission data. This enables comparisons of the GHG impact of different supply chain scenarios and across various regulatory environments.
Expandable to new markets
Any user of the tool can provide feedback to the GHG Support Team, suggesting improvements and/or future expansions. GGL may also choose to expand the tool to cover additional regulations beyond FIT/FIP in Japan and RED in Europe.
